SPEAKER: INMA MARTINEZ
Co-Founder and CEO Escape Velocity
Inma Martinez, 36 has what many consider a "Renaissance"
background. A PH Doctor in American Literature, Inma has grown her
professional skills in international government agencies such as the
UN, global financial institutions and technology companies. A Spanish-born,
she has lived in over six different countries, speaks five languages
and at present lives in London where she heads, as Chief Executive,
Escape Velocity, a technology company.
Escape Velocity develops Artificial Intelligence and has pioneered
in the industry the first real-time behavioural personalisation engine,
fundamentally oriented to "Humanise technology" and to focus
on the convergence of multi-media channels and services that add value
to human beings in their daily lives.
In the industry and trade press circles, Inma is considered one of
the few evangelists of the new economy. She is usually invited to
comment or write about innovation technologies, personalisation, the
transformation of technology towards the servicing of humans and psychological
aspects of the eternal controvery "Man versus Machina".
Inma is a profound believer in technologies that reduce Man's alienation
when confronting technical complexities. She supports very strongly
the concepts of brand-value, and the respect for human "illogical
thinking processes" whenever new applications come to market.
Prior to co-founding Escape Velocity, Inma worked for Cable &
Wireless PLC, playing a key role in assessing the new technologies
that would affect market trends and transform how global corporations
do business in the era of IP-technology developments. Directly involved
in the deployment of integrated network solutions, and migration of
legacy to IP-based platforms, Inma also advised many corporations
on their IP strategy regarding Internet, portals, Business-to-Business
and Business-to-Consumer strategies and other IP-integrated solutions.
Inma has as well gained very valuable experience in the financial
services industry, in her role as senior executive, developing country
relationships in Europe and Latin America for The Institute for Infrastructure
Finance, an international member group think-tank associated with
the World Bank, EBRD, and other government agencies and at Goldman
Sachs & Co. in private banking.
