Nov 2000 - Feb 2001 Vendee Globe Race. A stunning second place that captured the hearts of many people across several nations, and which even pushed Le Professeurı Michel Desjoyeaux to the finish line. Ellen became the youngest person ever to sail around the world single-handed.
